Storti supports schooling and promotes students' entry into the world of work

Storti S.p.A. is actively committed to involving young people in the company's production and territorial reality and to encourage their entry into the world of work. Strengthened by this commitment, this year the company has decided to join the PCTO project organized by the "Janello Torriani" Higher Education Institution in Cremona to start an alternating school-work path.

What does the PCTO project consist of?

The PCTO project ("Percorsi per le Competenza Trasversali e per l'Orientamento", Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation) involves a period of internship carried out in a company alternating with classroom study, aimed at having students acquire skills based on laboratory teaching, analysis and problem-solving, and project work, through placement in a company, such as Storti's, that fosters an organic connection with the world of work and professions.

Storti's participation in the Open Days for Companies and Enterprises for the Maintenance and Technical Assistance address

Last December, Storti participated in the week-long event "Open Day for Companies and Enterprises," organized by the Janello Torriani Higher Education Institution in Cremona, to introduce itself to the classes of the Maintenance and Technical Assistance address. The meeting, focused on acquainting school students with Storti's business environment and showing them the skills sought after in the professional figure of the maintenance technician, was also an opportunity for Storti to visit the historical part and the laboratories of the associated APC headquarters.

Teachers from the institute visiting Storti

Storti has given its full willingness to collaborate with the institute and host some students for a period of training internship within its production structure, so last February 7 some teachers from IIS J. Torriani reciprocated the visit, coming to visit us in the company to experience firsthand the opportunities that the students involved in the project will have.

Storti offers students the chance to gain hands-on experience in a company, which, in addition to being a place of work, is a cognitive context and home to fundamental social relationships, where students will be able to learn up-to-date knowledge not only in the operational sphere but, more generally, about work organization and business culture.

Storti also, at the end of the internship period, will consider hiring the students, encouraging their entry into the world of work.

But Storti wanted to go even further, donating to the Institute useful materials for their workshops.
In fact, the Institute's professors, at the end of the visit, were able to choose some components of various kinds, mechanical and otherwise, that Storti currently no longer uses within its production cycle.
This material will have a second life in the Institute's laboratories, where the students will be able to operationally refine their training.
